Another mind fuck!
Two weeks into my Police Explorer training I had been invited on a Ride Along. This was something I had been very excited about, seeing it as a chance to witness action firsthand out on the streets.
The first couple of hours were relatively slow, the two cops I was driving around with telling me stories of some of their past adventures, talking on their radio, and joking around with me.
When we answered a domestic disturbance call they even let me turn on the siren, but it wasn’t until after lunch when the incident happened that ended up changing my world.
